The First Meeting of Experts of New Composition

On 13 February at the National Centre for Education of the Republic of Latvia, in Riga, there was held the regular meeting of the group of project experts, but it was the first with the new composition of the group. 

On 13 February at the National Centre for Education of the Republic of Latvia, in Riga, there was held the regular meeting of the group of project experts, but it was the first with the new composition of the group. Since the middle of last October the group of experts is led by Dr.paed. Associate Professor Gunars ( Gunārs ) Strods, Deputy Rector for Cooperation and Development at Rezekne Academy of Technologies, who chaired his first meeting of the group of project experts.

The main aim of the meeting of the group of experts was to discuss the duties to be fulfilled by experts to develop project study materials, to agree upon the materials to be translated and the dates, when the global education study material will be available for educational institutions and other interested parties.

Before this meeting there was a round-table discussion held for amalgamated municipality teachers at the Council of Rezekne Amalgamated Municipality. During the discussion there were summarized teachers’ initiatives and desires – what study materials they would like to see – by indicating particular themes, forms, nuances of the design of study material. The experts pointed out that the discusssion enabled to obtain the framework and direction for the development of study materials, and it is only necessary to implement it a tangible format.

A the meeting of experts the representative of project work group informed on the achievements attained within the project and the activities to be implemented, as well as the results to be expected. The experts were set the dates for work to be fulfilled in future, what shall be fulfilled in order to implement successfully all activities planned within the project “Global Schools: EYD 2015 to embed Global Learning in Primary Education”, No. DCI-NSAED/2014/1#188450345#.
