The First Day of Global Education Courses has passed

Thrill had overwhelmed the project implementation work group – What will it be like? Will the educators from Rezekne Amalgamated Municipality educational institutions like it? Under such conditions on 25 February there was commenced a 48-hour program for the improvement of professional competence in global education for the field of preschool and primary school.

Thrill had overwhelmed the project implementation work group – What will it be like? Will the educators from Rezekne Amalgamated Municipality educational institutions like it? Under such conditions on 25 February there was commenced a 48-hour program for the improvement of professional competence in global education for the field of preschool and primary school. The program is envisaged for the educators from Rezekne Amalgamated Municipality within the framework of project “Global Schools: EYD 2015 to Embed Global Learning in Primary Education” No. DCI-NSAED/2014/1#188450345#.

On the first day the course was delivered by Inguna Irbite ( Ingūna Irbīte ), a lecturer of Education Development Centre. She delivered attractive classes on different themes of global education, such as – what is global education (GE), possibilities of GE at the educational institutions, desires and needs of population – harmonious development within local and global community, as well as safety ability, sustainable lifestyle and global development, GE resources and development of adapted materials.

At the end of studies, the lecturer provided educators with guidelines for the fulfilment of home assignment, as well as listened to the assessment of delivered course given by educators.

Several educators from Rezekne Amalgamated Municipality who attended courses acknowledged that the first day passed so fast and was so interesting that they even did not want to go home after the courses. The positive energy, knowledge, interesting study materials, as well as study methods obtained during the courses will be passed over also to other educators from educational institutions, as well as used, while teaching preschool and primary school pupils about GE.

In conclusion it should be pointed out that the lecturer of the courses emphasized – State Education Quality Service plans in the nearest future to introduce three criteria for the assessment of educational institutions concerning the overtness of educational institutions to GE, therefore we are pleased to say that through the involvement in the GE project the educational institutions of Rezekne Amalgamated Municipality will be ready for these criteria.
